What has EUROPREV achieved over its first 30 years — and where do we go from here?

In 2026, EUROPREV celebrates its 30th anniversary. To mark this milestone, the current and former presidents of EUROPREV came together to document the history of the network from its foundation in 1996 to the present day.

The article looks back at three decades of EUROPREV’s development, including its scientific and educational activities, research projects and publications, international collaborations, European Forums on Prevention and Primary Care, webinars, policy contributions, and its involvement in WONCA Europe.     1-brotons

From its establishment in 1996 to becoming an official WONCA Europe network and joining the WONCA Europe Executive Board in 2023, EUROPREV has continued to promote evidence-based prevention and health promotion in European primary care.

Today, EUROPREV brings together 37 delegates from 25 European countries. As we look to the future, our priorities include evidence-based recommendations, European and international research, collaboration with other organizations, and addressing low-value care, overdiagnosis and overtreatment in prevention.     1-brotons
